• The Encyclopedia of Women of Theatre described The Encyclopedia of Women of Theatre is an ever expanding reference database of women who have contributed to the world of theatre prior to 1900. Our goal is to ultimately include as many women as we can find with a comprehensive list of reference for further research. This site is meant as an aid to historians and theatre enthusiasts in their search for the feminine voice in theatre. We are constantly looking for new names to add and additional information on those already listed. Suggestions to this end are always appreciated. For individuals, to better accommodate your needs, we have two levels of membership: $5.00/month or $25.00/year. Below is information for institutional subscriptions. We appreciate your support in helping us continue to build this resource. Secure payments can be made via PayPal using all major credit cards, or from a PayPal account. You can pay in any currency and your credit card company will bill you in local currency. Please note that our subscriptions DO NOT RENEW automatically so you need have no fear you will be getting into a relationship that will be difficult to escape. Students and faculty at subscribing institutions are not charged. Please use your institutional email address when making your account, then follow instructions. As a member you can * read the full text of all articles * print articles in an attractive format * generate lists of actresses according to play, century, theatre, and/or country * generate lists of plays by century and/or country * links to internet resources The Encyclopedia of Women of Theatre is owned by its writers. Becoming a member pays our researchers for their work and helps us to keep expanding this site.

Prices in US $ Yearly subscription begins with the date on the signed license agreement. Reminders will be sent as the end of the year's suscription nears. We do not automatically renew. Renewal is upon request.
